Research & Development
Built from First Principles.
Our R&D programme is not a department — it is the foundation of every product we ship. We invest in simulation, indigenous tooling, and deep materials knowledge so that our designs are correct before a single prototype is built.
Our Approach
The Antariksh R&D Philosophy
Most engineering firms prototype their way to a solution. We simulate our way there first. Every topology, every magnetic design, every RF layout is validated in simulation before it reaches a PCB. This is not caution — it is efficiency. A simulation run costs nothing. A prototype spin costs weeks.
Our simulation-first culture means we can explore a wider design space than firms that rely on build-and-test iteration. We run hundreds of operating-point sweeps, corner analyses, and Monte Carlo tolerance studies before committing to a schematic. The result is a design that is robust by construction, not by luck.
We also invest heavily in indigenous capability. Where commercial IP is unavailable, restricted, or simply not good enough, we build our own — custom magnetics, in-house RTL cores, proprietary firmware stacks. This is a deliberate strategic choice: it keeps our supply chain short and our technical knowledge deep.
Research Focus
Six Core R&D Domains
Advanced Power Conversion Topologies
Research into next-generation DC-DC and AC-DC converter architectures — GaN and SiC device characterisation, soft-switching topologies, wide-bandgap magnetics, and ultra-high-efficiency designs for aerospace and EV applications.
Tools & Methods
Custom Magnetics Design
In-house design and characterisation of transformers, inductors, and common-mode chokes for high-frequency power conversion. We wind, pot, and test our own magnetics — a capability that is rare and strategically critical for MIL-grade programmes.
Tools & Methods
RF & Microwave Circuit Research
Ongoing research into low-noise amplifier design, mixer linearity, frequency synthesis, and phased-array beamforming. We maintain an in-house RF lab with VNA, spectrum analyser, and signal generator capability up to 40 GHz.
Tools & Methods
FPGA Architecture & RTL Development
Research into high-speed digital architectures for signal processing, secure communications, and real-time control. We develop and maintain proprietary RTL IP cores for DSP, encryption, and protocol bridging — all formally verified.
Tools & Methods
Thermal & Mechanical Simulation
CFD-based thermal analysis and FEA structural simulation for all products destined for harsh environments. We validate thermal margins and mechanical integrity before prototype build — a requirement for MIL-STD-810 and DO-160 qualification.
Tools & Methods
Indigenous Technology Development
A long-term programme to reduce dependence on imported IP and components. Current focus areas include indigenous GaN gate driver ICs, custom DSP firmware stacks, and proprietary RF front-end modules for defence applications.

Sovereign Capability
Indigenous Development Programme
Reducing import dependence. Building sovereign capability.
India's defence and aerospace electronics sector has historically depended on imported components, IP, and subsystems. Antariksh Dynamics was founded in part to address this gap. Our indigenous development programme is a structured effort to replace imported solutions with domestically designed and manufactured alternatives — without compromising on performance or reliability.
Current indigenous development efforts include: a GaN-based gate driver IC designed for 650 V / 100 A applications; a proprietary DSP firmware stack for radar signal processing; and a family of custom RF front-end modules for X-band and Ku-band applications. All are developed entirely in-house, with no foreign IP dependencies.
